The Left Wing Society

We need a Leadership Challenge - Starmer Out!

23/9/2020

It's become abundantly clear that Starmer has turned his back against the left of the party, his distancing of Jeremy Corbyn's socialist vision and appeals to the "patriots" of Britain has been painful to watch. His whole record as Labour leader makes for very bleak reading. You can read it in detail by clicking here.

Only 4% of our members are content with Keir Starmer's first 6 months as Labour leader and nearly 50% of members feel "politically homeless".

Due to this The Left Wing Society is calling on all socialist Labour MP's to start making preparations for a leadership challenge in 2021. We are under no illusions of the difficulty of this task, but we have to try and do everything we can or face losing our party forever.

He puts Isreal's best interests above the people who he works for, i believe that's treason.

Starmer is a fraud.
He talks about working together as if he was Corbyn. HE'S NO corbyn. He's not even a socialist. He has squandered our money, our effort & our trust. Members are leaving in disgust. We must turn the tide.

As a far left member, I am thoroughly disgusted at the way the blue labour members have undermined the Socialist values upon which our Party was founded.
I am now in a political wilderness wondering whether I should keep on giving my money to anti-socialists. We need to bring true Socialism back. The last true Socialist Government brought us the NHS and almost full employment.

Disgusted at Sir Starmer's abandonment of human rights, support for torture is not what I expect from an ex human rights lawyer.

Starter is like the lovechild of Tony Blair and Nick Clegg. I couldn't trust him as far as I can spit to not roll over and let the Tories bulldoze what services they haven't yet decimated

Keir Starmer is the British establishment yes man.
He is not a politician,he has very poor knowledge of world affairs.
He has no clear answers about policies and is unclear with his answers when questioned.
At PMQT he has a script, without the words in front of him he is totally inadequate.

My reasoning for wanting him replaced.

The Tory bill contradicts the Geneva Convention and the UN Declaration of Human Rights.

Clement Attlee was instrumental in these becoming accepted as International Law and the Labour Empire was built upon their strengths of all for one and one for all.

Amnesty International oppose it.
Human Rights Watch oppose it.
The Red Cross oppose it.
Nato opposes it.
As does every other human rights organisation.
The British Legion opposes it.

The signal the bill sends out is our armed forces can murder and torture at will without fear of repercussion.

It sets aside international law on torture, treatment of prisoners and battlefield engagement.

Any captured member of the armed forces will now be subjected to the worst pain and torture imaginable. Then they will be murdered in cold blood.

Currently the other side know their own prisoners are treated with respect and they offer many of the British armed forces they capture the same in return.

It's one thing for Keir himself not to oppose the bill. But he insisted that all Labour MP's abstain. This in a Parliament where the Tories have an 80 seat majority.

19 Labour MP's refused to follow Keir's meaningless dictatorial order. Those with positions were punished and sacked from their positions.

All I am saying is Labour should have taken a full and massive stance against this bill with a vigorous stance hoping to persuade public opinion.

At first I thought we should give him a chance. But after his decision not to protest against this bill and punishing Labour MP's who did I can no longer support him. I think he has alienated too many traditional Labour supporters.

I now see he's running 'I have a vision' videos: It's almost as if he's following Blair's policy. Let's face it, he's establishment and although he comes from grass roots, he's now in the top rank. He has no interest in questioning the tories: he sings of their hymn sheet. This is a Broken Britain, we don't want hear the same celebrity politician rhetoric again! We know times will be hard and sacrifices must be made. Vision is not what we want. It is health, food, council homes, fair rents, good basic education and money spent on new enterprise. Everything the left stand for - Ian
