The Left Wing Society was created in late 2019 as a pressure group to ensure Labour remains firmly on the left of the political spectrum and continues with Jeremy Corbyn's socialist vision. Our members feel highly concerned that Corbyn's 5 years of work is quickly being undone.
The L.W.S feel the best way to defeat the Conservatives at the next election is by sorting out our "own house" first and pushing for a leadership challenge against Starmer in 2021.
61% voted for a leadership challenge against Starmer, 31% for a new party, 2% to join an already existing socialist party, whilst only 6% voted to back Starmer as Labour leader. (August 2020 Poll, 841 Votes)
Only 21% of our members currently feel most closely represented by the Labour party. 47% feel politically homeless. (September 2020 Poll, 495 votes)
